I want to share this idea here as well

Kinda just randomly had this idea for a book.

You know how everyone says "if you were sent in time, it's not like you'd be able to transfer any useful scientific knowledge".

So I thought, what if there was a book on exactly that, documenting a bunch of useful concepts, laws, etc, that would give anyone an overview of science overall?
Most importantly it would have something like a contents page so you would be able to skim through everything.

For example, it could be similar to videogame tech trees somewhat, but obviously more complicated.
In fact there's probably a videogame out there with a really elaborate tech tree out there.

I want to start with this first.
The most important techs (if we're transported extremely back) are:
Agriculture
Fire
Writing
Tool making
Maybe shelter building from adobe and wood

Ah yes, mathematics and basic physics too of course.
Also it'd be interesting to build a path from electricity to technology, in fact there are youtube videos on this exact subject. I sure love youtube for how it enables information exchange.

...there's actually a LOT of videos on the subject.

Animal husbandry if you want to separate it from agriculture. Canines were domesticated very early on, way before than any livestock, and I'm sure their domestication helped with other animals.
Making fabrics and clothing from fur and leather (tanning!), and from various suitable plant materials (perhaps nettle).
I wonder when they started to make cordage. They could use various plants as is, but as with fabrics, some plants can be processed into fibers, and from fibers they could make cordage/rope.

Frankly they figured out Five C of basic self-reliance:
- cutting tools
- cordage
- cover (clothing and shelter, preserving body temperature)
- combustion devices (making fire)
- containers (not necessarily clay pots and such, but stuff like hollowed tree trunks and whatnot)

Also they did agriculture as hunter gatherers: they had a travel cycle, places they visited year round, and they saw seeds at one place (without much cultivation) and when they returned there were some consumable plants, berries, leafy "vegetables", tubers, etc.

Very basic physics, chemistry and biology stuff would make a huge difference. Basics of mechanics and its mathematical handling, making magnets out of iron and electric circuits out of copper, basic hygiene to prevent the spreading of disease etc

Basic technology like the printing press, boiling wood pulp to extract cellulose etc.would an enormous difference. Eg. papermaking and the printing press would allow a very vibrant intellectual life to flourish

Yes, this is something I wanted to write about. I'm glad it exists honestly even if the chips are only like 90-65nm at most. Actually that is much better than I expected, this is mid-2000s tier.
This isn't happening anytime soon because the complexity of creating modern chips is space flight tier currently.
The industrial cleanrooms from what I've read need to be literally multiple stories high, and yeah the equipment costs literally more than houses.
Still I wish chip manufacturing would become more accessible.

Ehh sci tier enough,

I want to make this thread to possibly save ripchan form extinction and increase the number of VERY high quality post. I think our image board is a good combination of both shit posting and serious discussions. However, as Plato states the world is made of ideal forms, by understanding these forms we can improve our own reality. The goal is not necessarily to spam and reply farm, the goal is to consistently create maximum quality threads to were anytime you log on you are a better person then when you came, this should be the goal for any online discussion, as the social network should bring people together instead of making them more separate.

There is a theoretical thread that could auto säge 3 many time over, and there is a Hypothetical thread that could shoot KC like a rocket. It is ip to us to discover what these threads are and how to replicate them.

STARTING QUESTIONS
Is it better to use an actual photo or a digital drawing as a caption? A gif or a video? A title or no title? How many files should be used 1-4?

Should the thread’s word length be long with lots of things to respond to or short as to not deter people from posting? Is it better to speak telegraphically so people have a tersely understanding of what to say? Or should we post with many tangents, as to increase the number of conversations.

hypothesis and theories In the replies

There is so much to say so I will post them in the comments. I encourage you to respond with your own theories, thoughts and opinions, as well as correct me or add one to what could be said. I hope you enjoy another meta discussion and psychological thread.

TEST

The funniest part of science is the testing to see if your theories are correct. Of course, our sample size is much too small, I recommend testing threads on kohlchan.net krautchan.org/int/ or krautchan.org/m there you will get much insight on the Bernd mind to help this KC.

generals are a good way for every user to stay on track and get a shit ton of replies. We can prove this with the most replied to thread of modern KC, the Russia vs Ukrainian kohl general. While the subject matter is /pol/ tier there have been thousands of threads that had stayed on track with the theme and persisted throughout time for a while. However such threads are prone to corruption and in the worse cases make it impossible for anything new (the highest form of human creation) to be made.
Take for example ernstchan.top, it was boring in large part to the fact that it was an image board filled with generals anyone who wanted to make something new was pushed to the bottom and made room to the threads that had over 200 replies but on an image board slower than this one.

KC.org is that standard for generals, using them as containment thread instead of containing the users. Orgchan knows that while they may synthesize quality discussions they in themselves are not quality.
TexasHuman response to provocative materialBernd2026-07-08 19:25:21 · 1dNo. 362854reply
The reason why kohlchan threads suck is because everyone is trying to stay on page one, and the demographic of kohlchan is white older men. This is why porn and shock videos are posted all the time, and why they are so rude, they want attention and they want people to reply and click on there thread.

Honestly I've been spending too much time on the Internet posting my attempts at technical writing.
I enjoy it but it takes away from me, so I'll have to cut on how much I read and process. I am not the only one like this.

I think it's best to make a strong summary in the beginning or a good structure so people can know what you're talking about by skimming. I know I don't really do that all the time, but that's cause I mostly write stuff down as a reference for myself.

>increase the number of VERY high quality post
Personally I think .rip could do well as an idea/info exchange platform or informational blogposting. I really like that old thread about China and Western propaganda for instance. This was the inspiration for my generals. In an ideal world I'd attract people who like to research, explore, and share information.

Most of your post have better quality then maybe 69% of org threads, 87% of all KC threads, your posts help KC.rip a lot. However sometimes I struggle with what to say or if I’m even qualified to say everything at all.

>Personally I think .rip could do well as an idea/info exchange platform
This, but I don’t want KC to look like kohlchan and just become a news channel. The best threads are the silly ones that leave you happy. I like obscure topics and information, they make for really fun threads.

Pheww, okay, so I spent the entire day digging around with the debugger and ghidra and whatnot and it caused a headache so strong you wouldn't believe it. Picrelated: my honest reaction
The problem I was trying to solve right now was trying to figure out how to enable unicode in the game. I want to use cyrillic + extended alphabet (some languages use this)
assembly&x32dbg are so hard for me to navigate now it's unreal
In the end I finally found the parser function and figured it actually reads the file by 1 byte at a time. I did not find the parser for unicode (not sure if it exists yet)
So... Basically we can only use symbols from 00 to FF now. Which is 256 symbols. Which is why it crashes when we convert translationkit.txt to utf.
What's interesting is the russian version of petz is not in unicode it's just ANSI with windows 1251 or something, I don't know the specifics, this is just how it is.

SO I guess we just gotta do codepage remapping now. (basically replace one letter with another) I always knew this was a thing but I really believed I could just easily enable unicode here lol. I cant even begin to imagine how arabs deal with all this localization bullshit.

First, a cool story: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjFBaGr1xgM
A hacker reverse engineered gta5's poor loading times. The reason was that during online load the game read json for shop items, but it did it really poorly - it loaded the file again and again each read. Rockstar eventually reached out to him and granted a bounty of 10,000$. Very cool.

As for my project, I made some progress today. I am going to try to change the game via DLL's, ship it with a modified font and all that. I made my first ever DLL and managed to inject it, but now the hardest part begins, how the fuck do I plunge in my edited font there. Like it's probably not enough to load it so???... Honestly I expected a localization project to be much, much easier.

Edit: I have also been tracking down the text pipeline, yes. It's very elaborate for a simple kiddie game, but I suppose I expect no less from the team that pioneered that weird ballz artstyle of theirs. I actually love it. I think engineering wise petz 5 is quite cool, (hell according to other modders it has some sort of genetics system) it's just that it's a bit empty content wise.

Its called Munchausen By Proxy. Its a psychiatric condition where a person has a morbid fascination with Medicine and Health Care in general, tends to lionize doctors and nurses, and is attention-seeking. The person wants to be a "hero" and will injure or harm a patient or relative and then take steps to save them just in time or notify staff.
Other times they outright kill a patient by believing their were "ending their suffering".

They should be simply called serial killers and should be dealt with in the same way as other serial killers. They cannot be reformed because it is a severe mental health condition.

I'll answer seriously. The real question is in the first moment, why someone would like that. Let's imagine a common homosexual fetish like shit eating for example. At some point it must have seemed normal enough to just try sticking your tongue in some shit. What turns it into a fetish though is rewarding yourself with an orgasm each time you do to the point you create a path of behavior that releases chemicals needed in the brain. So what possesses someone to try in the first place? Social instruction embedded in cultural brainwash? Sadness and pain? Self loathing? The mere fact it is forbidden alone is not enough of an explanation, otherwise everyone would be doing it and it would no longer be taboo so no one would do it anymore.
