Celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve?

Chrietmas eve is when we wish each other merry christmas, work until 1PM and get presents in the evening.
The 25th is the day when we meet our families and have gorgeous dinners.

don't you guys work like 7 days a week all year?
25th and 26th are always days off, too bad they are on a weekend this year

We celebrate it during the 24th. Today I visited my friend, exhanged gifts, now visiting grandmother with my family, then we will go to my parenta and eat all the delicious food and exchange presents, then I'll visit another friend and after that I'll go to another friends house where we will drink and bath sauna.
The 25th is irrelevant and I'll just eat at my parents house if there is food left

Why

why not?
according to ancient calendars, the next day starts on previous sunset
after all, in Genesis 1.5:
>God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
note that first comes evening and then morning
so, christmas eve is already christmas day (december 25th)

Halloween is also celebrated on All Hallow's Day eve
