The allies of Germany (except Bulgayria which did an amazing performance considering it’s size,population and the fact that they had two fronts or even three if you consider Greece and Serbia as separated fronts) sucked big time. Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire had serious problems handling the Russians, if I recall correctly Germany had to send troops to the Galicia-Lodomeria/Carpathians front because the Russians pushed the Austrians back. The Ottoman Empire had a Southern front as well so they had a better excuse. Of course, Austria-Hungary had also other fronts like Italy, Romania and South Balkans but if they military was not that incompetent they could have steamrolled the balkans (this includes Romania) and focus on Russia (Italians were also extremely incompetent so they were not a pressing matter).
Also, never trust Italians.

how did humans lose the tail?
through skating i have discovered that there are way more muscles (grip-muscles i'd guess) in my legs and especially my foot than i would have assumed. thinking about it i would have preferred having a tail then not having a tail. this would be quite useful for balance, assuming it would be at least somewhat strong. maybe not as strong as an arm but with a little bit of strength i could use it to push myself off walls or hold myself to a streetlight. a third weak arm on the back? yes please! might be annoying during sleep though.
ever since thinking about a tail more, i noticed i have muscles where my tail used to be. i can imagine clearly how it would be. there are just muscles above the bunghole that i can flex to move the tail around. i either have those muscles or maybe it is some genetic memory of having had them in the past.

no. it's not a bad idea to wear a helmet. when you are still new and don't know what to expect. when i do something dangerous or something i have not done before or when i feel like it then i do, otherwise not.
i've never been injured skating. i had one absurdely dangerous fall. i was riding very fast (not downhill but still fast) free skates and a particularly unfortunate configuration occured where a large pebble was whirled up by the wheels, got stuck in between the skate and the wheel, blocked the wheel while my weight was on it and the skate just broke off the path i had intended for it to go. so i was on one wheel while my weight was on the wheel that was drifting to the side.
and then this thing happens what you lovely involuntary celibate gentlemen are still in denial about and call me schizo for: time slowed down. and since time was slowing down i took my time and have a debate on how to handle the situation. i was calmly and carefully weighing all my options and decided to extend my arm upwards, swing it forward, and make a roll like sonic. WORKED PERFECLTY! from full speed i suddenly toppled over arm first, then the head then the back. basically breakdance quality move. i rolled over, dispersing all the momentum into a roll. no injury, all i did was scratch the top of my shoe a bit.
onlookers must have believed i died when they saw the speed with which this must have happened outside of the slowdown but of course nothing happened. i got up, got back on the skates and continued my ride as if nothing happens. lol similar things have happened quite a bit. when people see me fall, they always think it is dangerous catasrophe and rush towards me believing i must have suffered catastrophic injury, but no. the injury from skating does rarely come from accidents, it is always from overconfidence.
when you progress slowly, not doing stuff that is too risky and focus on developing a sense of balance then accidents barely happen because you can see them a mile away and you have plans for everything and if you don't then time still slows down when you need it to.

might be the nervous system overclocking the internal processor to allow for reaction time. i think some people are on edge all the time as if this had some advantage over a relaxed state of mind but clearly the relaxed state of mind can continue to be relaxed even in dangerous situation. the danger then expresses itself not through fear or reflex but through perception of time.

bitch i skate with an umbrella, you wanna pretend i believe i control the wind that drags me around? that's nonsense. it is a combination of knowing most dangers, early detection and preventing dangerous situations from occurring, seeking for ways to diffuse the danger if it happens, having the benefit of time slowed down, ability to minimize damage during fall and then protective gear.
that's so many layers of preventing danger. though this idea of 100% in control is important because when you injure yourself on a skatethingy you can see it as simple as this: you either did something wrong or you failed to prevent it. either way it is your fault, either way it was unnecessary. let that sink in.
tree falling on top on you when you were skating. is that your fault? yes. because you lacked the environmental awareness to dodge the tree. when you are near a tree you have to know in advanced that it might fall or that a branch might fall. it's all your fault, everything is. branch drops and slaps you in the face, knocking out a teeth. that's your fault for not seeing it coming.
