Look I'm saying that his explanation doesn't make sense at all, it's something I'd expect in a shitty anime. His explanation is like someone claiming that black people moved into europe and then suddenly they all turned white and blue eyed, rather than that a mutation had to spread between them.
Japan has a weird relationship with vaccines in general & they have a weird employee - manager relationship too so if a boss wanted this explanation to be published because he personally likes it, nobody will question it.
