Bloomberg: Germany nationalizes Uniper
Uniper and its main owner Fortum have reached an agreement on the contract.
The German government has decided to nationalize the energy company Uniper SE, reports Bloomberg.
Anonymous sources who spoke to Bloomberg confirm that the German government, Uniper and its main owner Fortum have reached an agreement on the deal.
Fortum's representative did not comment on the matter to Bloomberg. Neither the German nor the Finnish government commented on the matter to the news agency.
Bloomber already reported last Wednesday that Germany is considering the nationalization of Fortum-owned Uniper.
Uniper's losses and uncertainty about the company's future prospects have grown rapidly and significantly since July. In July, Fortum, Uniper and the German government signed a guarantee package to save Uniper.
