Curse my rotten luck,
just walkin’ and walkin’...!

The moon, just to be more of a moon,
wants to steal the wind away,
to carry it from palm tree to palm tree,
and never give it back.

The moon came down to the marsh,
just to see her own reflection,
the bulls, half-dead from thirst,
drank her up right with the water.

God made rum and He made man,
so they could get together,
God is Almighty,
so His will be done.

He who lives without lovin’,
is only just gettin' by,
and it’s too late when he realizes,
he's just a dead man walkin’.

I was saddlin’ up my horse,
and she started to cry,
so then, without a single word,
I started unsaddlin' again.

With my horse and my lasso
I live my life in peace
I carry a sign on my forehead:
"I am not for sale, nor for rent!"
Curse rotten luck,
just walkin' and walkin'!

I always wander everywhere
I always return to the old land
