what video games do you play?
I play videogames for the social aspect more than anything, but people don't talk anymore and just play the game. I can't take it, I need socializing with internet people like I did before, I don't even like videogames anymore, I just want to have fun.
There used to be a time where I had contact with some people I met over Dota 2 but that eventually died and we don't really talk anymore, it was mostly centered around the game itself and stuff like grouping up and playing together, never really went beyond that. I also recently have not had a lot of interest in a lot of videogames and I at most play around 3 matches of CS2 before I get bored and stop playing, but I remember back in CSGO that people used to be more active than they are now. I don't really get it because the game has become more popular now than it used to be before so people should have been talking more, but I think that there are many new players that don't speak English.
cs2 was a huge downgrade, probably only mindless zoomers and russians who can't speak english left playing that trash. basically valorant strike with the same audience, more cheaters than before, server tickrates worse than before, hitreg a messy shit and unsatisfying gunplay and that overly vibrant clown visual style. uninstalled it after a few weeks of playing, csgo and css were worse than cs1.6, but this is a new low.
if you are looking for socializing, play a social game, competitive games are not it. mmos might be good, wow classic and getting into a guild, gw2 is cozy and has a nice community, ff14 same if you are a weeb, but even if you are not. or try shooters that are more oriented towards private servers and their micro communities and don't have a ranked system, i've been playing hell let loose recently for example and there's many servers where you will meet the same clans and people often, and it's overall a very cool and immersive fps with lots of depth

Try DCS, if you want to talk to other players. The community is nice and helpful and you will find people who teach you stuff online. You'll need to invest some time and money but you can start with the free modules and the others are often available at half price.
From my experience, buying a helicopter module is a good idea for making friends. Helos seem to be the Bernds among aircraft, but don't underestimate them:

You have always the same server that everyone you know plays on. Modern online games don't offer dedicated servers, so it's very unlikely that you'll run in the same person twice.
Ranked modes make it even more unlikely that you'll encounter the same people again.
Then game designer outsourced the "community building" to discord, so unless you already are in a group organised on discord it is exteremly difficult to connect to groups ingame.
So you are stuck with the same three people you know through other means and that you connected with in other ways then in-game.
When was the last time you saw someone in any game advertising their clan or doing an LFG? That shit is outsourced to discord so it leaves outcasts and boomer behind in online group forming.
