Nice fact about Marburg:
There are so many poor students in the city, that cheap and good food is available even at 10/10 locations where usually a luxury restaurant might be.
 
Also, we had an encounter with an american tourist(?) who was being followed by some guy with an east european accent begging for a cig.

Man train tickets are expensive. Trying to figure out if it makes sense to commute between strassbourg and karlsruhe and i think i need 30 euros every day

Yes, the pricing is terrible.
Sadly I can not get a driving license.
 
If you are a daily train user in Germany, I recommend getting a Bahncard as you pay for it only once and then get discounts on train tickets until it expires.
 
Or just sign up for a random university and travel as a student for 180€/year as much as you want in the sub region of your choice.
