To me, Xi is definitely one of the most temperate Paramount Leaders in Communist China’s history. He is not rash or impulsive, he bides his time, and he only acts when he has complete information on the situation.

Which is where the “Do Nothing, Win” meme comes from. He’s not exactly doing nothing per se; he’s just waiting for everyone else to make their moves first, then he will analyse the global chessboard afterwards and finally makes his.

And China has so far greatly benefitted from his patience and sensibility. It’s also not as if China is really doing nothing either - it is busy developing its own infrastructure and infrastructure abroad through the Belt & Road initiative, and is securing itself as the leader of the Global South with regards to BRICS and Africa, all while America becomes more isolationist.

I dont really know exactly if the approval rating of his governance in China is accurate. When I worked there, it was still under the previous leader Hu Jintao. But I won’t be surprised if it is genuine. He has practically leapfrogged China’s economy and prosperity to be able to now directly compete with the USA. The Chongqing you see today is very different from the Chongqing of 2005-2007 when I worked there, and so is many other different cities. Chongqing was more or less a mountainous backwater swamp 20 years ago, and now it’s transformed itself into a cyberpunk city and tourist destination.

In my eyes, Deng still remains as the greatest, and Mao - while socially revolutionary within modern Han Chinese/Socialist ethos - is largely still the biggest idiot when it comes to governance. But thats just my opinion lol.

Due to some circumstances, today I lost the pc I had, so now I have to get a job to buy a new one.
I'm not sad, because it was inevitable in the first place but now my table feels empty. I don't know which videocard to buy, I'm playing videogames regularly, but I can't say my goal is to buy pc purely for gaming, so can anyone say if 2070 is okay or I should ignore 20xx videocards and buy 3070 or 3080 instead?
RussiaBernd2025-11-15 18:40:33 · 8mnNo. 351016reply
Bruh, it turns out in english language it is not "videocard" but "graphics card". I knew something was off.
Anyway, I'm a complete noobie when it comes to specs, so that's why I'm asking for advice. The pc I lost had 610 graphics card, if I remember correctly. It is very old and outdated tech, so I was playing games that were just as ancient, ignoring modern ones before I get a new pc.
RomaniaBernd2025-11-16 01:05:46 · 8mnNo. 351020reply
First off you need to figure out if your pc can run a 2070 or 3070, cause if not you may have to buy more upgrades. 3070 is very power hungry so check your PSU, CPU, whether your pc has a good cooling system and whether the video card will fit at all.

Also unless you have a good monitor 3070 may be overkill, but even then 3070 is much better assuming you won't have to upgrade anything

That aside I had a laptop with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. It's nice, you can run virtually whatever you want, so it's good for regular gaming. The question is if you can spend the price difference between 2070 and 3070 in a way that matters more.
HungaryBernd2025-11-16 09:00:29 · 8mnNo. 351029reply
You talk to lots of non-native english speakers. Videocard is just fine...
Really depends what you wanna play. If you are fine with older games (think of Witcher 3) you might wanna hunt a used pc. I think now that Microsoft pushes Win 11 lots of machines will be available for they can't run Win 11 on them (the hardware is incompatible) and owners have to buy new ones. So they might be cheaper than usual.

Oh, this is quite insightful, I wasn't aware of any of that. I guess I will have to ask an acquaintance who is more knowledgeable in the matter than me, to help me with that.
When it comes to games, I'm not the person who wants to play the newest ones nor wants the best graphics, so I think I will be fine with 2070 as it covers probably all games up to year 2019, or 3070 which seems to me to be relevant up to year 2035. Unless developers will fail even more at optimising videgames. My brother have a pc with 1080 and he is playing Lies of P right now, so I guess that tech is not that important as it is portrayed in media if you don't mind having the graphics settings not being cranked up to max.

United KingdomBest Alternative Search Engines 2025Bernd2025-10-29 06:43:35 · 8mnNo. 350711reply
Big search engines like Google and Bing are well known to track searchers activity and sell that data to advertisers — which is why many of us don’t feel comfortable searching freely anymore.

If you’re looking for more private alternatives, here are a few I’ve come across. I’d love to hear what others are using too!

🔍 DuckDuckGo – Great for simple, untracked searches
🔐 Startpage – Delivers Google results without the profiling
🛡️ Brave Search – Strong privacy with its own independent index
✨ MyAllSearch – Clean interface with a focus on user privacy
🇪🇺 Qwant – GDPR-compliant, with servers based in Europe
🔗 Dogpile – A metasearch engine that pulls top results from Bing, Yandex, and more

Please share anymore Iv'e missed, I'm always curious to discover new ones.

Today I would like to tell you about scizophrenia powers.

Believing a random screenshot from Twitter is dumb of course, but if you will google the key words you will quickly find multiple studies on the subject.
So, yeah, you just become stronger. Everyone knows of placebo effect and this is somewhat similar, by imagining lifting a heavy object your neural pathways receive the same input as if lifting the real one and improve their work to a certain extent. Perharps it is more like learning a skill, studies on which also were conducted where two groups of basketball players were tested with throwing from far distance, one was tasked to daily imagine throwing the ball into the basket and the other one was prohibited to do that and after a month performance of the former group was significantly better than the latter one. So, back to the point, imagining muscle contractions on a regular basis (4 times a week, but it is not hard to meditate like that y'know, so you can do everyday without a problem) will increase strength in muscles affected by the imagined motion/exercise but size will not grow because you are essentially doing a workout for your nerves, not muscles themselves. Furthermore, obviously, imagining a harder exercise will grant more strength gains, so imagining lifting something heavy is better than imagining lifting someting light. That's it.
