When will the ADHD scam die off? ADHD literally emerged as an excuse sell amphetamine to medicate "difficult" children. Now every single goyim thinks they have ADHD whenever they have problems with focus and believes they have to take literal amphetamine to deal with it. Nobody ever considers that focus issues can be (usually are) a consequence of: - Trauma, specifically the freeze and flight responses to stress. - Anxiety and avoiding emotions. - Lack of interest. - Organic brain damage. Nevermind that there is literally no way to objectively diagnose said disorder, it's as real as thetans from Scientology are btw.

>Study finds emotional dysregulation is a core component of ADHD >Kids in an “irritable” subtype have higher levels of anger, sadness, and fear. Those in the “surgent” subtype display a kind of emotional impulsivity and overexuberance (Psychological Assessment, Vol. 31, No. 2, 2019). >Karalunas said. “The irritable children have a short fuse. They get upset about small things, and take a long time to let it go,” she added. “Surgent children’s excitement can overwhelm their thinking and lead them to act without thinking about the consequences.” I believe at its core most ADHD is just emotional dysregulation and some other mental illness, which there actually a correlation with. Funny how the supposed ancient hunter brain is so hysterical for seemingly no reason :v I guess it's going to take time for people to recognize this much negative emotionality is never innate.

>>343915 Absentmindedness, forgetfulness can have a lot of reasons besides "just being born with it" and most of the time thinking it's just the way you are is not useful. Which is kinda my point. There has to be a specific cause that can be pinpointed down to. But I don't believe they are being lazy if that's what you're asking me.

"Highly Sensitive Person" is another one of those memes that popped up recently in the mainstream. Ironically the creator of this label only created it to explain away her son's autism with something "normal" and even "cool". But it is quite similar to the hunter brain myth and other shit people make up to explain lack of focus. There's a pattern between these constructs that makes certain behaviors into a nice pseudo-scientific box packaged into an identity or a personality type. But it doesn't make the person engage with what is truly happening in their life - they explain away their behavior with someone else's fantasy instead of analyzing the circumstances that really shaped them and others like them. In that way I think these things can be actually harmful.

Regardless of what the root cause is, ADHD meds offer a fast way to remedy the attention deficit problem Therapy is very time consuming and often ineffective

>>343912 As a dude who abused coffee (INB4 "abuse coffee lol") I can say - ADHD-like bullshit happens to you if you drink cheap an ounce of "instant coffee" per day Example 1: I would buy some cheap coffee, try some, think "mmmm... this one isn't as tasty, I should pour more"... BOOM. My mug now has several "cups" of instant coffee. Example 2: Soda with caffeine. Cola, stong tea from a teapot, energy drinks, you name it

>>343927 Yeah, if someone wants to take Ritalin responsibly that's none of my business. But due to misconceptions and laziness people can overmedicate their own kids just because they're too stupid to handle them. It's mostly people treating a trashcan diagnosis like it's not one is what is bothering me. >>343928 Yup. I had a pretty bad experience after drinking a bunch of sugar cans recently. Not gonna do that again!
