In basically all cases it is cheaper to buy vegetables from the mart than growing them yourself if you include your own labor cost. But a lot of people get enjoyment out of it that makes it worthwhile.

Grow tobacco and weed guys, the only things that are worth it. It WILL save you in a situation of crisis

Even better. Tell em your banana is "this size" and continue with "size doesn't matter".
