How to find a german girlfriend?

I am programmer who immigrated from Russia. ( i am in my late twenties) I am not rich, but have a good work and education. I am not ugly (maybe just a little bit) and I have a good level of English. @ German women don't talk to me at all! When I try to talk to them, they are pissed of or frightened.(usually both) Warum?.. Where and how to approach them? Maybe a good German language is a necessary prerequisite?

>When I try to talk to them, they are pissed of or frightened.(usually both) This is why no one but you wants a german gf.

>German women don't talk to me at all! >When I try to talk to them, they are pissed of or frightened.(usually both) Since we don't know where, when and how you approach these women, it is difficult to answer. East Slavs have a tendency to freak us out a little bit, because they smile much less. (I guess from a Russian perspective we look like idiots or try to fool them.) From my perspective Russians often come across as angry or standoffish, because they don't smile. >Where and how to approach them? Maybe a good German language is a necessary prerequisite? Where do you live, what are your settis? Small town, or Berlin? How old are you roughly? German skills are important, but in bigger cities less so. On the countryside it would be social suicide not to speak good German. Maybe you should join a local sports club to get better integration. There might also be meetings for foreigners or people interested in foreign languages if you live in a more cosmopolitan place. Such things are good for practicing German and getting to know people.

>>118701 I'm from Berlin-Brandenburg area. I doubt that smiling is crucial, but I'll try. I feel like Germans are kind of afraid to know eachother a little bit more. So on the surface level I don't pass the vibe check, because I am just a strange guy, and nothing is going to be further. I also feel that it is like a taboo, to get acquainted with somebody without some innocent reason.

>>118703 >I'm from Berlin-Brandenburg area. That doesn't tell us much. Either you live in one of the most cosmopolitan and socially libertine places of Europe or some post-soviet backwater village in one of Germany's most desolate areas. If I give the advice to "go to a bar and talk to people", you will have wildly different experiences depending on where you do this. Although I guess it is one of the most straightforward ways to get some social interaction. >I doubt that smiling is crucial, but I'll try. I haven't met you in person, so I don't know. Maybe something else is the problem or you are surrounded by idiots and do everything right yourself. It's just a cultural difference you might want to be aware of. You might think "smiling is not important" and a German looking at you might think "why does this Russian look like he wants to kill me". >I feel like Germans are kind of afraid to know eachother a little bit more. So on the surface level I don't pass the vibe check, because I am just a strange guy, and nothing is going to be further. Very insightful. I think this is true to some degree for most Germanic cultures, in some areas more, in some areas less. Within Germany there are regional differences. Again, especially in rural areas you might have a problem while some Berliners might be curious about strangers. If you're in a more closed community in a little village, I recommend you check out "Vereine" or "Volkshochschule" or some other activity or group like that. Maybe there is something targeted at foreigners for practicing German, too. If you have a common goal or activity, people will be more open. >I also feel that it is like a taboo, to get acquainted with somebody without some innocent reason. Yes. You need a reason, otherwise it gets weird easily.

i don't need a reason, but they do, so I should be inventive, yeah

Why do you want a German gf? Just get a Russian one.

G*rman gfs are probably at the base bottom on the tier list for me. I have no idea why anyone would desire to torture themselves like this.

>>118709 Obviously, a gf from another culture is more interesting. I mean she may enrich me, let me grow. Starting from language, for example. But I have no the same perk, because Russia is an outsider in the world, so nobody is interested in its culture, and it is OK and totally understandable. I was not very popular among women in Russia, but had success from time to time. Maybe young women now are afraid of creating family, are afraid of pregnancy. It is popular to have adopted kids here in Germany. Because women don't have to give birth, I think. Maybe men called "breeders" nowadays are considered as not sustainable, not climate-friendly, etc. And useless, because young european women have absolutely everything to live healthy and long live. Maybe "useless" sounds cruel to me, but it is how they think. Sometimes I feel that attitude as if I am a slave of some kind. If you unintentionally said something wrong, you have no mercy, they will punish you with ban, for example.

>>118793 Well you're not wrong but I don't think women are afraid of creating a family. Moreso the entire western culture tells them getting a degree is more important than anything else, they must work hard and obey their boss, the illusion of independence from everyone except their employer must be maintaned.

>>118796 Yeah, I also know some strange guys who have a masters degrees on Russian culture. I don't understand them. They could do something useful, be a doctor or create something, but they decided to learn russian culture...
