Practice is shitty if you have to force yourself to do it. Pure discipline works for strength training, but unfortunately not for playing music. You have to make time for practice, work on your general attitude towards life and learn to enjoy the process. You have to focus on little details like dampening a string in the proper way at the right time and appreciate such small successes. You need some discipline but you cannot ignore joy in practising.

True, lmao.
I was going home to Marburg, I visited a friend this weekend for 2 days on his campsite.
He didn't sign us up there and didn't tell us that we need a negative corona test either so when the neighbours hedge caught fire and the fire fighters came, the place owner found out about us and kicked us out.
We then went to his 14/88 tire rich girlfriends' apartment in Wolfsburg - she kinda solo carried the weekend.
She is a clean 10/10 and used to be a vegan until 1 week ago when she met my friend - now she eats burgers and smokes pot every day. Soon she will probably wake up and think: "wtf am I doing?" And break up.
At the station in Marburg friend who plays the bass waited for me because I begged for help to carry all my equipment.
After we smoked something some old guy started to talk to us because he saw me carrying a guitar and invited us to a jam session, and there we played for 3-4 hours.
Me the guitar and my friend the bass, and in the last hour we swapped.
Pic is the small room next to the rehearsal room we went to, i didn't take a better picture because it was awkward to do so in front of strangers.
There was also a black dude who spoke german quite well for a new comer and a ~35 y/o german woman, they wanted to go home together (she was prbly horny lol) but the old dude didn't let them go because he had so much fun because he finally had some "grove" thanks to my friend and me.

Actually sames.
I can tell you about the prices in Germany if you care:
Average is 10€/g.
If you order a lot it usually becomes cheaper, like 10g for 90€ etc.
In the north it is a bit cheaper than in the south due to all the harbours and NL being close. Weed for 9€/g in Hamburg might cost up to 11€/g in Bavaria.
The jew dealer of my city (he is an actual jew with these thin twisted locks) only sells top notch 10/10 weed so he sells it for 12,5€/g if you don't buy a lot and he became rich during corona.
He also once took my friend to the villa of one of the bigger druglords in Germany.

The best method to tune guitar/bass
Bernd 2021-06-25 07:52:25 ⋅ 3y No. 116571Since Austria Bernd asked how to tune with a tuning fork I will try to put my method into words.
First we start with the A string of the guitar as it has the same frequency as the tuning fork.
Hit the fork and play a flageolet note on the 5th fret of the A string to get the 440Hz A.
If the string is slightly out of tune, you will start to hear a "ripple" sound which sounds kinda wavy, a bit like a vibrato. I visualised it in picture 3.
You can hear the interval until the two waves meet again. The more your A string is out of tune the faster the ripple sound will get, and the closer you get to the tuning forks' frequency the slower it becomes until it eventually vanishes when you hit the exact same frequency (picture 4).
Now, since we don't buy a tuning fork for each guitar string, we play flageolet notes on the other strings and tune them with the exact same method, we listen to the wavy ripple sound and tune the strings until the flageolet notes are on the exact same frequency.
Cons of this method:
- it takes some exercise. I for example still need ~3 minutes to tune my guitar but a friend of mine does it in less than a minute.
- you need to be in a quiet environment to be able to listen carefully to the wavy sound. if you are in a room with morons who can't stop fapping with their fucking guitars for 5 minutes so everyone can tune, you can't use this method. Sadly these morons are 90% of musicians I know.
Pros of this method:
- it is very, VERY accurate, mastering this will make you tune your instrument a lot better than with an electronical device, this is the biggest pro
- you don't need to rely on an electronic tuner anymore and we all know how often we forget to exchange their batteries or even forget them at home
- you actually don't even need a tuning fork (if you don't have one at the moment) as you can pick any random frequency and use it as a starting point. mastering this method allows you to tune your guitar even if you are alone in the nature without anything.
- it is cool as fuck to listen to and you can flex in front of other noob musicians who will suck your balls dry to teach you how to tune like this.
If you are interested, I can try to record the rippling effect when I tune my guitar this evening.

Why don't you try this method then?
It is a bit easier on an electric guitar than on an acoustic one, just make sure to get a clean sound on your amp.
For example, try playing a flageolet note on the 7th fret of the A string and one on the 5th fret of the E string, you should hear the same note, and the wavy effect even if your strings are only slightly out of tune.
Report back how it was if you tried ;)

This song instantly managed to climb into my top 10 songs. Every single part is epic but the hook (at 4:21) can make me cry it's so beautiful and perfect. 10/10. I give tens to <0.01% of songs.

Nice, while I dont understand the musical technicalities you described, I was right that you tune it due to hearing interference when it isn't quite there yet.
So you hear a uuuuouuoouuuooouuuooooouuuooouuuoooooooouuuuooooooo when it's not there until the sound of both the string and tuning fork overlay perfectly and you only hear one continuous oooooooooooooo.
I remember playing as being a vacuum cleaner myself when me mum was vacuuming and if you hit just the right spot with your own voice then the vacuum did with its frequency, you could toy around with the same interference ripple.
What makes me wonder tho is, why electronic tuning methods are less precise. Somewhat intriguing that just a physical effect and the human ear can give superior results.

Agreed. Of course there are also super accurate electronic tuners, but simple devices that 99% of people use already show the green light if you are a few 0.x Hz off, and for tuning apps it is even worse.
